crisis cafe

If you are going through a difficult patch or had a particularly bad day - perhaps you are thinking you may have to go into hospital or need help to prevent a crisis, or you may just be feeling lonely or low - and having someone to talk to, meeting other people, speaking to a counsellor or simply being in a friendly and safe space for a while would prevent things getting worse; then our evening Crisis Café is available to help. It is open every day of the week, including weekends, from 6pm until 11pm at our building in Faulkner Road.
Service open 6pm to 11pm, seven days a week. Located at 14-16 Faulkner Road, B92 8SY No appointment necessary, in-person service.
The service is very informal and you can use it as and when you feel you need it; you don’t need to be referred by anyone, just turn up when we are open. Our building is two semi-detached houses knocked through inside and has several different rooms/areas - including a conservatory, garden and TV room - as well as the two main lounge areas and separate rooms for one to one support. You can chat and socialise with other people, have some time with a support worker, have a one to one private session with a qualified counsellor, or just find yourself a quiet space where you can be around people if you don’t want to be alone, without actually needing to talk to anyone if you don’t want to. There are two workers available, including at least one counsellor, to provide support as well
as guidance on how you can get further help including accessing services such as advocacy to help with accessing services, housing problems, benefits claims, debt and financial advice, counselling, employment support and advice plus other social and leisure activities. We can also assist in getting further help from your GP, NHS mental health services, and Social Services; and if you decide that you need emergency help, we can arrange this too.
